The exact moment Jasmine had opened her steel blue eyes, she knew she wanted to roll back over and go to sleep. It was Saturday so she didn’t have to go to her first real day at school yet but she knew it was coming. She was here so she would have to attend no matter how much she didn’t feel like it. Hell, she should have rolled over and went right back to sleep. The flight last night just to get here had been long and exhausting. Grunting lightly before raising from her bed and scratching the back of her head, Jasmine looked around, her deep blue eyes wondering around the unpacked room. Noticing that she had left her trunk in the lounge Jasmine muttered a quick curse before taking a look at the clock. It was early and she didn’t expect anyone to be up this early in the morning so she figured she might as well get it in after her shower.
Turning on the water before testing it, Jasmine walked in letting the warm water hit her body before rolling off. After soaping herself up and finished up conditioning her hair, she let herself rinse off, before turning the water off and stepping out. Grabbing a towel and drying off her hair, she left but not before wrapping the towel around her chest, the towel ending just above her tanned knees. Heading down to the lounge, Jasmine lifting her hand and scratching the back of her neck, moments later stepping into the lounge. Uttering a yawn, she looked around for her trunk her light eyes piercing the room as she spotted it near the TV. Along with that, well an empty bottle of Vodka. Hey, it was for her nerves. Rummaging through her trunk, she looked for it. Not for her clothes, those could wait a minute, right about now she needed a drink.
[sorry if this sucks. I'm in a hurry lol]

Sleep. It was something that most teenagers freaking loved to do. Hell, for a lot of them, it was their main activity. That, along with drinking, partying, and sex. Kade Trent was among those numbers that enjoyed those activities. All except for sleep. He had been avoiding it for the past few weeks, finding other things to do to occupy his time and to keep him awake. It really was an easy thing to do. Kade was good at finding good parties and sneaking into his dorm room late at night, or early morning sometimes. When a party wasn't available, he could usually find a willing lady to keep him up at night. But, if it came down to it, Kade could even be found doing his homework late at night, trying to fight off sleep the best that he could.
That night, there had been absolutely nothing for him to do. No parties. He had been in one of those moods where he didn't want to be around people at all. And he had somehow managed to get ahead in all of his classes, resulting in there being no school work for him to do. Kade had spent a few hours talking on IM with his younger brother who lived in Seattle, but he had to get off the internet, leaving Kade with nothing to do once again. Sleep had taken somwhere around two am. Kade had woken with a start, his heart pounding in his cheat and sweat on his forehead. Damn nightmare. After that, he'd gotten up and taken a shower and put on his clothes for the coming day, which was going to be very, very long. He could already feel it.
Sometime later, Kade was unable to ignore the growing feeling of hunger in his stomach. For some ungodly reason, he couldn't find anything to eat in his dorm room. He thought about sneaking into Riley's room to raid fridge, but decided against it. Things there still weren't going so well. So, after digging around for some change, Kade got up and headed for the lounge. The vending machines usually didn't have a very good selection of snacks, but it would due until breakfast was served in the cafeteria.
It didn't take Kade long to make his way from his dorm room down to the student lounge. He had been planning on making this a quick trip. Down and back. No stops along the way. But, when Kade entered the lounge, he knew that wasn't going to be possible. Not when there was a gorgeous girl standing there half naked. At first, Kade was sure that it was just his head messing with him. Lack of sleep and all that, but, as he watched her, she didn't disappear. She didn't fade away. Good God, she was real. Well, this morning just got interesting. A small smirk came to his well featured face as he took a few steps toward her, his hunger like it had never been there.
"I'm sorry to intrude, but I'm actually glad that I did," Kade said as he got nearer to this girl, his tone of voice purely teasing, well, maybe a little playful too. "I didn't think anyone would be down here this early." That's why he had it in his head that this was going to be a quick trip to the vending machines and back. Nothing complicated about it. No extras. But hey, he wasn't complaining at this point.

"Com licenca?"
Came the tired Brazilian reply from Jasmine before turning around and looking up at Kade. Ok so she had slipped up and instead of saying what in English she had said it in Portugese but whatever it was still good. Raising her own brow Jasmine held a puzzle look for a minute before slowly standing up making sure to hold her towel so it didn’t come unloose. Ok so this was slightly awkward and confusing but hey, she was standing in the public lounge half-naked so she shouldn't have been to surprised to see somebody.
"Yeah, I could say the same thing."
said Jasmine, the puzzled look on her face replacing into a slight smirk. Hey she couldn’t lie this was sorta amusing in it’s own way. It was either that or she just had a really weird sense of humor. Turned back around and fished through her bag some more into she found it. A small flask that belonged to her brother filled with her favorite drink at the moment. To give ya a hint it wasn’t orange juice. Twisting off the cap and taking a small sip Jasmine turned back over to the boy before taking a few step’s his way.
"Not that this isn’t a pleasant surprise, ofcourse."
Lifting a hand and running a hand through her damp hair and onto the back of her neck Jasmine made sure to keep her hand around the towel. Hell if it dropped then well nothing she could do about it and well she wasn’t exactly shy but flashing a boy wasn’t the right thing for her to do at the moment. Dropping her hand from her neck she grabbed the flask from her other hand and took another small sip.
[brain-dead lol]

Say what? That was Kade's first thought as the girl in the towel responded to him. Kade had only taken spanish as his foreign language, and that had been almost two years ago. He had no idea what the girl had just said, or even what language she had said it in. So maybe this was going to be more awkward than amusing. That would be a great story. "Yeah, I tried to chat up this girl. Turns out she didn't know one damn word of English and I just had to walk away before I made an ass of myself." Kade could see it all playing out like it had already happened. But, then she surprised him with an English reply. Thank God.
Kade considered what she said as she turned back around. She was obviously looking for something in her bag, but Kade couldn't put together a good reason for it being out in the student lounge. He also couldn't think of a reason for her to be out in the lounge wearing what little that she was. Just as he had gotten the idea to go ahead and ask as to why she was in such an odd situation, she turned around, taking a sip from a flask. Kade's eyebrows raised slightly. Why did he get the idea that it wasn't the usual morning drink of milk or orange juice that she was sipping on?
"Of course," Kade teased slightly, his hazel eyes lingering on her pretty face before moving to look at the flask in her small hand. "Drinking this early?" he asked, nodding toward it lightly. "You must have had one hell of a night." That was the only reason that Kade would drink this early. Well, that, and just drinking for the hell of it. He wasn't one to be overly cautious about that sort of thing. If he wanted to drink, he drank. An amused expression came to his face then. "But, it doesn't look like your morning has been all that normal, either."

Ah, the vodka. To be honest, even Jasmine was surprised with herself that she was drinking this early already. Normally she would wait for the nightlife to come out of hiding before she decided to get hammered, but it wasn't like she was planning on leaving the lounge with one hell of a headache. If orange juice had been in the flask, she would of still drank it. Her throat was just dry and she needed something for it. Luckily, it happened to be the small bit of vodka she had been given on the plane. Thanks dear brother for leaving it in her suitcase.
"Oh yeah. Very long flight, sitting next to the children of satan. Not to mention that I'm scared to death of planes also, so that kind of helped my nerves out a bit."
she said sarcastically, rolling her bright blue eyes playfully while tucking the flask back into her Tumi suitcase, already satisfied with the amount that she had drank from it. Jasmine looked back up at Kade, nodding her head at his last statement.
"My night was weird, morning was normal enough. Took a shower and didn't expect anyone to be up this early. Being my forgetful self, I forgot my stuff down in the lounge. I came in at around 4 AM though, so I guess I really wasn't paying much attention."
Jasmine slowly walked over to the lounge couch, her legs still a bit sore from walking around in the airport and around campus last night. She rubbed her temples as she sat down, pulling the lower part of her towel so nothing could be seen.
"It's kind of strange to have a conversation without knowing names though. I don't want to call you 'that guy' and I'm not really into being called 'the foreign towel girl'. I'm Jasmine."

A very long flight. That would do it. Kade wasn't really all that bothered by airplanes and flying. He had no fear of it. What got to him was those flights that just seemed like they would never end. Luckily though, he had usually always been fortunate enough to be flying somewhere with his brothers and parents, so they all got their seats together. No sitting beside of strangers for Kade. Well, that was until he started flying from Seattle to Atlanta to attend Coverdell. There were plenty of strangers to be sat beside of on those flights, but Kade always ignored them, finding something to make it where he was practically invisible to the person beside of him. Like the movie that was playing. Or sleeping. At those times, sleep hadn't been his enemy, but instead a good friend to him.
Kade listened to her explanation. So now he knew why her luggage was still in the lounge and why she was here so early in the morning wearing only a towel. That all made sense. But there was no way that Kade would be up this early if he had just gotten there at four in the morning. Sleep or no sleep. He would be crashed in his dorm, resting and trying to recooperate from the hellish flight. But, he guessed if you needed your stuff, you would have to come and get it if you left it.
Foreign towel girl. Kade had to chuckle at that one. "Kade Trent," he said, giving her his name before joining her on the couch, sitting far enough away from her so that he wouldn't be pressing on any personal comfort zones if she had them, but not far enough away to make her feel like a diseased freak or anything. He leaned forward, letting his elbows rest on his knees. Head turned slightly to the side so that he could see her with his hazel eyes. "And I gotta say, I like a girl that can drink and doesn't make excuses to leave when caught in nothing but a towel." It was definitely refreshing. Too many girls at this school were just so... not the kind that Kade got along with. But, there were a great deal that he got along with very well. Maybe a little too well.
"So, I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you're new," he continued a moment later, sarcasm clinging to his words. Of course she was new. Hints the flight, the luggage, and the fact that Kade had never seen her before. He would have definitely remembered a face and body like that. So yes, she was new. This was just his way of making small talk.

Jasmine watched as Kade walked over and sat onto the couch beside her, wondering what he was planning on doing. He seemed mature enough to not be one of those freaks that automatically start trying to get into your pants, in her case a towel, though. So I guess you could say she was a little relieved when he sat a good enough distance away from her, trying nothing. Jasmine wasn't against physical contact in any way, but she had to deal with some middle-aged perv in the airport lobby for over an hour and a half last night, his eyes only interested in what she guessed was either her legs or chest. She wasn't sure, she was tired and just noticed how he continued to look at her.
"I'm often caught in awkward situations, so I guess you could say this is just a daily routine for me."
she said with a small laugh, glad that her hair was now starting to dry up. Damp hair in not-the-warmest room was a bit uncomfortable, especially when you hardly had anything on.
"Nah, not really a big deal to me. It's not like we've never seen it before."
she said with a shrug. Well, he's never seen her entire body, but she was mostly just referring to girls in general. Who knew, this guy could just be an innocent virgin who only got pleasure from his laptop and just had a pretty good attitude to make people think that he was a smooth talker. Jasmine doubted it though. He didn't seem very fake to her.
"Nope, I've been here since my freshman year."
Jasmine seemed serious at first, but the soon after grin on her face showed that she could be just as sarcastic as Kade. It was obvious that she was new, and she didn't really know how to hide it. Was it the accent? Probably. No, the suitcase obviously. If she didn't have the suitcase though, then she would just be the girl in the towel who loves to roam around freely nearly nude. Well, that was probably her with or without a suitcase anyways, but maybe she would try to change her promiscous ways while in America.
"New to America actually. Thank god I can speak English though. Once in a while I'll probably slip up, but hopefully it doesn't annoy too many people."

When he had first walked into the lounge, the only thing that he had known about this girl was that she was in a towel and from what he could see, she had an incredibly great body and a gorgeous face. Now that they were starting to get into some of that casual small talk, he was getting to see that she had a pretty good personality as well. Or, this could all be some weird chick thing where they fake being all nice and sweet and then the next time you see them they got the claws out, ready to kill. Kade wasn't one to judge a person, but he was usually pretty good at reading them. From what he had gotten so far, this Jasmine was a friendly person. Not all bitchy all the time.
Not like we haven't seen it before. Kade grinned a little at that one. This girl had a good attitude. He liked it. Though, he didn't grin to be all cocky and to be like "You know it," or anything. It was just that she was so open with it. Yes, Kade had seen it before. He'd probably seen more than his fair share, but that was besides the point. He was also starting to listen to her talk a little more closely, listening to her accent. He couldn't quite place it, seeing as it wasn't something that was usual to hear. But, then again, Kade wasn't the best person to ask about that kind of thing either.
"Nope, I've been here since my freshman year." Brow raised slightly. There was no way that she was serious about that one. Soon, a grin gave her away. So she could had a sense of humor to her too. Kade was already starting to warm up to this girl. Definitely someone that he wouldn't mind talking to a little more. Getting to know. New to America. That was different. Kade didn't know a lot of foreign students that went to this school. Mainly because there were very few of them. "Well, if anyone gives you any shit, just let me know. I'll take care of it for you," he said, still grinning. "Though, to be perfectly honest, with your looks I doubt you'll have much trouble."
Well, he couldn't gaurantee that, but he knew that the guys around this school would immediately accept her. The girls would be a different story, but Kade had good friends that were girls that he knew would help Jasmine out if she needed it. At least, he thought that they would. The way that the girls did things were weird though. Kade didn't understand, and he accepted the fact that he wasn't ever going to understand long ago. But, he would do what he could. He may not be the best guy in the world, but you could at least say that he was decent.
