Eric took a seat in a chair, placing his books on the table in front of him. It had been after school and he had decided to get some work done, seeing as how he was overwhelmed with his school work, (and really wasn't going to do it when he got home). He took of his jacket, throwing in the chair next to him. He scanned the library, there were some people scattered around and the place echoed with silence, anyone who knew Eric would probably laugh, seeing as how he never went to the library. "Never catch me in here again" he mumbled to himself.
He sighed with boredom, turned back to his books, Trigonometry and Zoology. He looked to his binder and flipped open his Trig. book to the assigned homework page. He grabbed his pencil and started on his homework, his eyes soon paced back and forth from the book to his paper, writing down the answers.

Ashley wasn't much for the library, either. Mainly, because she always did things last mintue, so there was really no point and going to the library, to study. Pfft. Studying it was so over rated. One would probably find her there mor then Eric, though, because she'd always go in the day before something was due to cram. It always worked for her, all she had to do was cram the day before, anything and most of the time she ould get a good grade on it. However, if one was to ask her about it a couple days later,s he probably could only rmember half of it.
Whatever, the case tomorrow was Wednesday and she had a paper to turn in for A.P. English and need it was on some book, which she had never even heard off. The lean girl walked in through the shiney doors, wearing a pair of dark jeans, a brown top, and on top of that brown top she had a white one with lacey trims on the edge of the shirt, on her feet she wore metallic brown flip flops. A soft sound could be heard coming from each step she took and she search the rows of books, her finger tracing along each book as she passed, until she found the one she was looking for. "There you are," she said, as she grabbed the book and walked back to where there was a table, with only one person. When she got closer she realized just who the person was. It was Eric Summer. "What are you doing here?," she questioned, since this was a rather odd place to find him.

See working wasn't so hard. Even though Eric was a jock, he wasn't stupid, there were just too many distraction in his life. Occasionally he got away, whenever he could, and actually got some work done. At time Eric couldn't have cared less about his school work, but that all changed when his brother dropped out, I guess you could say that woke him up.
Sooner or later Eric became occupied with other things, his thoughts, and various other distractions at school. He went back to doing his work, but eventually couldn't focus on it anymore. Just as he looked up, out of boredom, he spotted a girl who had walked from behind one of the book shelves. He watched her as she came to a stop after walking over to him. Eric smirked to himself, Ahh, now Im fur really not gonna get any work done he thought, looking up to Ashley ignoring his homework.
He watched as questioned him, he sighed putting down his pencil,"Well came here to study, thats what normal people do now-a-days" he said laying back in his chair. He nodded towards the book, "Glad to see you have a book in your hand" he stated with a smile. ".....For once" he added under his breath.

The two had gone out for almost a year and he knew exactly how to push her buttons. He took advantage of that at times, but it was even she guessed, since she just eerked him right back. Ever since the break up it had been this way, why couldn't they just get along? It was hard to say and it was most likely more of her fault then his but it didn't matter whos fault it was. It pushed her buttons even more when she had found out a couple months earlier, that he had a new girlfriend. It was Bree, and Bree wasn't exactly an Ashley fan because of her relationship with Kade, while the two were going out. Which is why she had stayed away from Summers but here they were again.
Her eyes narrowed as he began to speak. "Ha," she laughed after he was doing saying his words. "I know, but we both know your not exactly normal," she knew that he wasn't the studying type but he knew that she wasn't either. She smiled at his next words about her book, she let her hands drop it on the table. She had heard his little remark, since it was a library and it was quite, perhaps she wouldn't have heard him if they would've found themselves in another place. "I would like to have you know, that I do read."

Eric smirked, he loved messing with her, it was something he was usually good at. Sometimes he would forget that she was his ex, since he usually acted this way around most. His attitude never really changed, unless you caught him on one of his bad days. Though he never took it out on Ashley, she could curse him out and yell in his face, all in attempts to piss him off. But with Eric, being his playful self, never took Ashley seriously, it was all just a joke when it came to her. The last time he took her seriously was when they were going out, and now that he knows her, 'inside and out' there was no reason to.
He closed his book, there was no point in even trying to get his homework finished. He turned his attention back to her, "Yeah, I'm above average" he replied arrogantly. "Though I can't say the same for you. You didn't even know how to read, but I'm glad you finally learned a new skill" he added with a small laugh. "Well all I'm sayin is, don't strain yourself. You may not be able to handle the big words. And I wouldn't want you to kill over or something, seeing as how I care so much" he replied sarcastically, still smirking.

Sometimes, only sometimes, had Ashley lost it and cussed him out. There were those times and she would take it out on him, not that he had ever done the same for her. But, most of the time Ashley kept herself under control around him, and even though she'd never admit to it she always got a kick from agruing with him. Perhaps that was one of the reason she had mixed up feels about him, she didn't know whether to hate him or be friends with him and she was mistaking that for something else. Although, at this very moment she was coming to that realization because she didn't take him seriously, either. They always threw insults out at each other but it was never serious, they just like pushing each other to the edge.
She rolled her eyes as his cocky side came out, she laughed sarcatically, "Yeah, your above average but that's only compared with all the other kids who ride the short bus with you,' she said, placing her hand on the chair in front of her as she leaned in slightly. She let out a sacrastic laugh. 'Please, I've had that skill and as my skills are concerned I have plenty that your unaware of," she added, with a smirk. "The only reason you care is because your aafraid that if I do kill you'll be the first one on my list, besides that you would give a rats ass, if I dropped dead" she replied, in an equally sarcastic tone.

Eric just looked back, hearing Ash continue on, just taunting back and forth. He never really understood why they did this, so much more than his other girls(who were friends). He couldn't help himself, not just around her, but around all his other friends. I guess you could call it flirting, but it never meant anything, especially since Eric did this constantly, it was just his nature, he couldn't help it.
He sat back in his chair, listening to the comments as they flew from Ash's mouth, "Why don't you slow it down, with all the teasing, I wouldn't want you to pass out." he replied with a smile. "I'm positive your fimiliar with the short bus, but maybe you should sit down, you look pale, probably from thinking too hard" he replied with a smile. He couldn't help but laugh hearing about her 'skills', "Oh yeah, I know exactly how many skills you have" he replied with a laugh, just playing around. "Those were the days" he added sarcastically.
